I have stated and will reiterate anyone who can ask that lacks understanding of several very key doctrinal truths. One of those is the true nature of man.
We have been inundated with the teaching of secular humanism, so many are under the delusion that all men are basically good, that there is some good in everyone. Is what Scripture teaches? Is that what the natural observation of people teaches?
The Bible teaches that all men before they are born again are basically evil and under the control of Satan: children of the devil. These unregenerate people love sin.
Why does this matter? Why can’t we just agree to disagree on this point? If this person chooses to believe that all men are basically good and this man chooses to believe that all men are born wicked and will do wicked things, so what?
All salvation will and must begin with true repentance. Always and forever, Never never never is a person born again without true repentance. Never.
True repentance always begins with a sight of sin from the Holy Ghost. It isn’t a sight of the sin of other people. It is a sight of the sin of your own heart. You see clearly for the very first time just how wicked your own heart is. You see that you lie, cheat, steal, gossip, hate, envy, lust because of the deep wickedness that resides in your very own heart.
You are deeply convinced of the black stain of your rebellion against the goodness and mercy of a HOLY creator. The fact that God has decreed that YOU should be tormented in hell forever for these things doesn’t surprise you at all. No. You are surprised that God is willing to show you mercy. You are surprised that such a wonderful Creator would stoop so low as to forgive you your sins. You are surprised that you are not in hell already for you deserve to be. True repentance. True sight of sin.
There is no such thing as a Christian who has not experience this BEFORE salvation. Never has been and never will be. Never. People who do not understand that hell is real, that it is forever, that it is deserved, that God is perfectly just in putting sinners into hell to be tormented forever, have never had this sight of sin which must and always will proceed anyone’s being born again. No repentance? No salvation at all.
That is why this doctrine is important. That is why preaching hell is so very necessary. This is why the idea that all men are basically good is so very evil and demonic. It’s a lie designed by satan to keep people from true saving faith. This is why it is a very strong sign, a prime sign of an unconverted heart.
You may say, “I don’t know many people who have had this?” No doubt. You may say,” I don’t like this.” Not surprising. You may say,” Then you must think very few people are born again.” That is what Jesus said.
You may ask, “If that is true, why tell anyone this?’ Same reason doctors tell us this or that is dangerous to our health. It so we will stop doing this or that and be healthy. The Bible teaches this and true Christians preach this so that others will repent of their sins and be truly born again.
Genesis 8 :21 When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.
Genesis 6: 5-6 When the Lord saw that man’s wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil all the time, the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
Genesis 6:11-13 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. God saw how corrupt the earth was, for all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth Then God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth.
Job 15: 14-16 What is man, that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous? 15 If God puts no trust in His holy ones and the heavens are not pure in His sight, 16 how much less one who is revolting and corrupt, who drinks injustice like water?
Job 25: 4-6 How can a person be justified before God? How can one born of woman be pure? If even the moon does not shine and the stars are not pure in His sight, how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!
Psalms 4 ; 4 For You are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot lodge with You. 5 The boastful cannot stand in Your presence; You hate all evildoers. 6 You destroy those who tell lies; the Lord abhors a man of bloodshed and treachery. 9 For there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is within them ;their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues.
Psalms 14: 1- 3 The fool says in his heart, “;God does not exist.”; They are corrupt; their actions are revolting. There is no one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.
Psalm 51:5 Indeed, I was guilty [when I] was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.
Psalm 53: 1-3 The fool says in his heart, “;God does not exist.”;They are corrupt, and they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good God looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise and who seeks God. Everyone has turned aside;they have all become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one
Psalms 58: 1-5 Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly? No, you practice injustice in your hearts;with your hands you weigh out violence in the land. The wicked go astray from the womb; liars err from birth. They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears, that does not listen to the sound of the charmerswho skillfully weave spells
Psalms 94:11 The Lord knows man’s thoughts; they are meaningless.Psalms 142: 2 Do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous in Your sight

Ecclesiastes 9:3 This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: there is one fate for everyone. In addition, the hearts of people are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live -after that they go to the dead.
Isaiah 48:8 You have never heard; you have never known; For a long time your ears have not been open. For I knew that you were very treacherous, and were known as a rebel from birth.
Isaiah 53:6 We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way;and the Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment; all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.
Jeremiah 2: 22 Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me,” declares the Sovereign LORD. 29 “Why do you bring charges against me? You have all rebelled against me,” declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 6: 7 As a well pours out its water, so she pours out her wickedness. Violence and destruction resound in her; her sickness and wounds are ever before me.
Jeremiah 13: 23 Can the Ethiopian [b] change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.
Jeremiah 16:12 But you have behaved more wickedly than your fathers. See how each of you is following the stubbornness of his evil heart instead of obeying me.
Jeremiah 17: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
Ezekiel 36: 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Micah 72 The godly have been swept from the land; not one upright man remains. All men lie in wait to shed blood; each hunts his brother with a net. 3 Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire—they all conspire together. 4 The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen has come, the day God visits you. Now is the time of their confusion. Matthew 7: 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
Matthew 12: 33″Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.
Matthew 12: 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
Matthew 15: 18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ‘unclean.’ 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander
Mark 7: 20He went on: “What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ 21For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.’ ”
John 1: 10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
John 3: 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
John 8: 23But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be,[a] you will indeed die in your sins.”
John 14: 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
Acts 8: 23For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”
Romans 1: 18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Romans 3: 9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better[b]? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. 12All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”13″Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.””The poison of vipers is on their lips.”14″Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”15″Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16ruin and misery mark their ways, 17and the way of peace they do not know.”18″There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 5: 12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—13for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.
Romans 6: 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness19I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness
Romans 7: 5For when we were controlled by the sinful nature,[a] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.
Romans 7: 13Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful. 14We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
Romans 8:7-8 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
1 Corinthians 5: 9I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
Galatians 3:22But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
Galatians 5: 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. 19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 2: 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.11Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)—12remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
Ephesians 4: 17So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. 22You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
Ephesians 5: 8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.
Colossians 1: 13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves
Colossians 2: 13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you[c] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
Colossians 3: 5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[ 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
2 Timothy 2:26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
Titus 3:33 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
1 Peter 1: 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
1 Peter 2: 9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2: 25For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls1
John 2: 16For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world
John 3: 7Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
1 John 5: 19We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
